01. Set-Up & Inflation

Unboxing & First Use

  1. Carefully open the box Enventur comes in - do not open the box with a blade to prevent accidental damage to your kennel.
    1. We recommend breaking the tape with scissors or similar.
  2. Slide the plastic bag containing Enventur out of the box and remove the kennel from the bag.
    1. It is normal for some odor to be present when Enventur is first opened and inflated. This odor will dissipate after the first 24-48 hours of the product being unpackaged and inflated.
  3. Unclip the two buckles and unfold the kennel so it is flat on the ground. The product is now ready to inflate!
    1. We recommend inflating Enventur at least 24 hours before the first use with your pet. This will allow the material to stretch a bit and settle after being packed snugly for shipping, and it’s normal for some pressure to drop during this time. Just reinflate to the recommended PSI before use!

Kennel Inflation

The Enventur requires an air pump for inflation. Please ensure you have an air pump with a stand-up paddle board nozzle (Halkey-Roberts valve nozzle or adaptor) before beginning inflation; the Diggs Enventur air pump(s)* includes all you need!

To inflate the kennel:

  1. Place the kennel on a hard, flat surface free of debris.
  2. Inflate the kennel with an air pump.
    1. Locate the valve on the right side of the kennel, when viewed with the mesh door facing you.
    2. Open the valve cap by twisting counterclockwise.
    3. Ensure the valve pin is in the raised position.
      1. To raise the valve pin, push the pin down and turn counterclockwise until it pops up and springs into the raised position.
    4. Hook the pump nozzle onto the valve and turn counterclockwise to attach.
      1. You will feel the pump nozzle engage with the valve once you have turned it far enough. It will connect securely to the valve and remain in place when you let go.
    5. Use the pump to inflate the kennel to 5-10 PSI.
      1. Pro tip: Once the top of the kennel and sides raise up (approximately 2-3 PSI), pull the backdoor into place and zip completely, then finish inflation.
    6. The kennel is fully inflated when it feels firm and in the pressure range of 5-10 PSI. Please note that different kennel sizes, environmental conditions (e.g., temperature) and personal preferences all play a role in determining the final inflated pressure, but the pressure should never be below 5 PSI or above 10 PSI.
      1. As the kennel inflates you may notice a hissing sound––this is a normal result of the air traveling through the kennel and does not indicate a leak.
  3. Zip the back door closed if you have not done so yet.
  4. Zip the front/mesh door closed.
    1. You might notice a small bump on the interior of the kennel near the inflation valve. This is normal and does not indicate an issue with the kennel.

To install your kennel in a vehicle, follow the instructions for vehicle use here.

*Air pump, tie-down straps for vehicle use and pee pads are sold separately.

02. Kennel Deflation, Carrying, and Storage

Please note: There will be a loud hissing noise when Enventur is deflated. This is caused by the pressure release and does not indicate an issue with the product.

To deflate the kennel:

  1. Ensure the kennel is empty, clean of any dirt and completely dry.
  2. Place the kennel on a hard, flat surface, free of any debris.
  3. Deflate the kennel:
    1. Locate the valve on the right side of the kennel, when viewed with the mesh door facing you.
    2. Open the valve cap by twisting counterclockwise.
    3. Press down on the valve pin and twist clockwise to lower. Twist until the pin locks into the lowered position.
      1. Enventur will begin deflating immediately when the pin is pressed down.
    4. Gently press the top of the kennel to allow air to escape, or attach the pump and use the deflate feature. *Diggs pump sold separately.
      1. Pro Tip: It is normal for there to be a slight odor when Enventur starts to deflate. The odor will dissipate over time.
  4. Allow the kennel to deflate fully.
    1. If desired, you can use the Diggs pump to help with deflation. See instructions included with the pump for more detail. Some other pumps may also have a deflation setting. Please check pump capabilities carefully.

To carry and store the kennel:

  1. Ensure the kennel is fully deflated.
  2. Fold the kennel in half lengthwise and buckle both (2) straps. Tighten the straps as needed.
  3. The side handles may be used to carry the kennel.

Do not store the kennel while inflated. We recommend deflating and reinflating the kennel between uses.

Do not store in direct sunlight to prevent fading or discoloration.

03. Vehicle Installation

*Before installing the kennel in a vehicle, we recommend placing it flat (uninflated) in the cargo space or on the backseat to confirm fit.

  • For cargo space installation, the kennel base should fit in the cargo area with access to all four tie-down points without impacting the closure of the vehicle doors.
  • For backseat installation, the kennel base should fit onto the seat fully. There should be no overhang of the base beyond the edge of the seat and without impacting the closure of the vehicle doors.

The instructions for safe installation vary depending on how you plan to install the kennel in your vehicle. Ensure you follow the correct instructions below!

Check Before You Drive Off

  • Always ensure tie-down straps are fastened securely to the D-rings and to vehicle tie-down points in the cargo space or LATCH attachment points on the bench seat before each trip.
  • Always close all doors and ensure zippers are secured before transporting your pet.
  • Always keep the kennel fully inflated to the suggested pressure when the kennel is in use.
  • We strongly recommend the use of vehicle tie-downs to secure the kennel and ensure the safety of all passengers in the vehicle. Tie-downs are sold separately.

Cargo Area Installation:

Safe cargo installation requires four (4) tie-downs.

  1. Locate your vehicle tie-down points. These are usually on the cargo space floor or along the sides, close to the floor.
    1. Your vehicle's manual will indicate where to find them.
  2. Set the inflated kennel in the cargo space of your vehicle with the kennel’s front door facing your cargo door.**
    1. two separate images for this step (for different-sized cars)
  3. Use the tie-down straps to attach the kennel to your vehicle.
    1. Slide the end of one of the tie-down straps, without the buckle, through the D-ring on the kennel. These are located at each corner of the kennel.
    2. Loop the same loose end of the tie-down strap through the vehicle's tie-down point closest to that corner of the kennel. Pull the loose end towards the buckle of the tie-down.
    3. Repeat for all corners (4 in total).
  4. Tighten the straps by sliding the loose end of the strap through the buckle. Ensure all straps are pulled to prevent the kennel from sliding, but straps should not be so tight that they deform the kennel in any way.

** Depending on your vehicle (hatchback, SUV, etc.) and kennel size, you may need to turn the kennel sideways to fit. In this event, all 4 tie-down points must still be accessible for safe vehicle installation.

Backseat Installation

Safe backseat installation requires two (2) tie-downs.

  1. Locate the lower LATCH anchors on the backseat of your vehicle.
    1. These are tucked between where the seatback meets the seat, and specific details can be found in your vehicle’s manual. In your manual, these anchors may be referred to as child safety loops, lower anchors, or LATCH.
  2. Slide the end of the tie-down through the D-ring that is on the side of the kennel that will face the front seat so that the buckle is on top of the kennel and accessible. The excess webbing of the strap should be placed under the kennel.  Repeat with the other tie-down.
  3. Place the kennel on the bench so that the D-rings with the tiedown strap looped through them are facing away from the bench seat.
    1. Pro tip: placing the kennel in the backseat of your vehicle may be easier with the kennel partially deflated. Once the kennel is in your vehicle, fully inflate it before proceeding with installation to ensure the valve is accessible.
  4. Loop the loose end of one tie-down through one of the lower LATCH anchors and pull under the kennel until it reaches the buckle at the top. Do not loop the tie-down through the handle or D-ring. Repeat with the other side.
  5. Slide the loose end of the tie-down through the buckle and pull to tighten. Repeat with the second tie-down. Tighten to secure the kennel. The straps should be taught, but not deforming the kennel.
    1. When properly installed, the straps should loop fully around the kennel to secure it safely to the vehicle.
    2. When properly installed, the straps should only be threaded through one D-ring and the LATCH anchor. The other two d-rings should not be utilized.

04. Care & Maintenance

To clean:

It is best to spot clean with fresh water to remove any dirt, debris or residue. If there is dirt that cannot be rinsed away, mild dish soap can be used. Ensure the product is fully dry before deflating and storing.
